The art of the pen

Ars Calami is Latin. The art of the reed pen. Before printing, every book that survived did so because someone thought it was worth copying by hand. That is the standard we care about: writing worth someone else's time.

Most writing feedback fails in one of two ways. It is kind and useless, or it is harsh and unaccountable. Ars Calami is built against both.

Here, feedback is earned. You review to submit. Every critique you give is rated by its writer and scored for substance, and that record follows your pen name. Good readers rise. Careless ones fade.

Submissions are anonymous by default. Reviewers judge the page, not the profile. But nobody is a stranger: accounts are verified, actions are logged, and rank is on the line with every critique.

Ars Calami is for writers who are past wanting applause. Novelists mid-draft. Poets with a manuscript taking shape. Anyone who would trade ten likes for one honest margin note.
